What made Esperanza join SGA?:
"I joined the Student Government Association (SGA) driven by my deep passion for advocacy and representation for my constituents, the student body, and the communities I serve. Furthermore, providing support to those in need and ensuring that everyone is heard, safe, and represented. As a transgender bisexual Latina woman, I have experienced firsthand the challenges of being in an environment where safety and comfort are lacking and where voices like mine are often unheard, unrepresented, and neglected. However, I never let these challenges discourage me. Instead, I took proactive steps by getting involved in student organizations and other school programs to ensure that individuals like myself, as well as my fellow communities, peers, and students, had a voice and were heard and represented."
