
Biography
Ethan Lynne is the President of The George Washington University Student Government Association for the 2025-2026 school year.

Lynne is an undergraduate senior from Central Virginia, pursuing a major in Political Communication within the School of Media and Public Affairs. At GW, Lynne served previously as Vice President and as a Senator in the Student Government Association. Lynne also chaired the Finance Committee, where he advocated for increasing funds for student organizations across campus. Lynne also works in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a fellow, playing a key role in helping support admission staff, and assisting incoming GW students. He also served as Residence Hall President of Thurston and Shenkman Hall, where he aimed at improving day to day living for students across campus's largest residence halls.

Throughout his tenure in the Student Government Association, Lynne established Election Day as a university holiday, GWorlds on mobile wallets, elimination of venue rental fees, oversaw the largest by law reform in SGA history, and brought the most members of GW Administration to be questioned. He continues to advocate and helped secure the largest club organization funding increase in university history.
In his personal life, Ethan has two dogs named Rocket, and Ralph! In his free time, you'll find him going for walks, biking, trying new restaurants, exploring new museums, and just hanging out with friends.

As President, Ethan is focusing on students' physical, mental, and reproductive health, expanding options and hours within GW facilities, and making the student government more transparent and efficient.
