Biography
Hello! My name is Liz Stoddard and I am humbled and thrilled to serve as your Vice President for the 2025-2026 academic year. Growing up in Delco, Pennsylvania, I have strived to be a part of my community in whichever way possible. Back at home, I pursued my interest in policy by working for Senator John Kane’s campaign, contributing to grassroots activism and campaign efforts. Participating in his campaign efforts enforced my passion for politics and led me to pursue my major of Political Science and minor in Religion here at GW!
Being in our GW community has been nothing short of a wonderful and rewarding experience. The city, the campus, and its people have a special place in my heart. Seeing the vibrancy and determination in our esteemed students and faculty members inspires me to work harder to uplift and improve our campus everyday.
I have deeply enjoyed my time on GW College Democrats and Moot Court where I was able to exercise and develop my political knowledge, as well as cultivate my debate and analytical skills. GW being such an inclusive community, has also given me the privilege of participating in GW Catholics, where I have been able to embrace my faith. This is one of my favorite things about our community, there is something for everyone!
Last year, I had the privilege to serve as Pro-Tempore for the Senate where I am proud to say that I created and led the first Women’s Caucus. This initiative involved passing the GW Survivor’s Bill of Rights and working with the Title IX office and the Dean of Students to create a greater voice and accessibility for GW students. I also worked to increase the diversity within our Senate last year resulting in a 10% increase in women and people of color in the Senate. This will allow for a variety of perspectives, ideas, and backgrounds to be involved in making important decisions for our GW community.
This year, I aspire to build transparency, efficiency, and collaboration. Some of my policies include implementing a Fixit knock policy, generating more advertisement for Title IX resources, and improving dining transparency, and opening the finance committee to the public.
I have loved being a member of SGA throughout my undergraduate experience. Knowing that I get to serve such a wonderful student body allows me to fulfill my role with grace, kindness, and determination to make this year one of the best we have had.
