As a result of student advocacy during the 2016-2017 academic year, the Student Association is happy to announce that the cost for Colonial Printing at all WEPA Kiosk will be reduced for black and white double-sided printing starting Saturday, July 1st, 2017.
The price for mono duplex printing will be reduced to $0.06 for one side of a print job, while mono simplex will cost $0.08 per page.
In addition to the price change, the Student Association has allocated $1,200 for printing cards, which will be provided to students with financial needs. The Store at GW will distribute the cards throughout the 2017-2018 academic year.
The discussion regarding price change for Colonial Printing began as part of an effort to promote sustainable behavior on campus. By printing double-sided whenever possible, GW students can help the University save up to 600,000 pages of paper, approximately 54 trees and 56,525 gallons of fresh water, annually.
The Student Association would also like to thank Academic Technologies and the Office of Sustainability for their hard work and willingness to collaborate with student leaders in this initiative. Their partnership and support were instrumental in making this price change a reality and increasing sustainable practices within the GW community.
