Good morning,
The White House administration has announced a series of mass deportation raids that will begin Sunday, July 14 in cities across the country. These raids will likely include Washington, D.C., and in light of this announcement, it is important to know your rights.
At The George Washington University
GW values diversity in all forms and welcomes and supports students from all backgrounds around the world. If you’ve entered the United States without inspection or overstayed your visa and are present in the United States with or without your parents, the university is committed to supporting you throughout your undergraduate or graduate studies.
GW has not and will not require that admitted students provide proof of citizenship or that current students disclose if they are undocumented. In addition, the university will assist its undocumented students through the GW Law School’s Immigration Law Clinic.

Know your rights: familiarize yourself with and spread the word about immigrants’ rights when stopped by ICE agents in public or when ICE agents come to their homes or workplaces.
Stay informed: monitor rapid response information when the raids begin by following @SanctuaryDMV and @UnitedWeDream.
Speak up: Calling the Sanctuary DMV hotline (202-335-1183) or United We Dream hotline (1-844-363-1423) to report any ICE activity in the D.C. area.
